17-Year-Old Accused Of Stealing MBTA Agent's Gun

BOSTON (WBZ) ― MBTA police have arrested a young man who allegedly tried to steal an agent's gun Thursday night. The incident was captured on surveillance tape.

Transit police say 17-year-old Nelson Otuechere of Roslindale tried to take an MBTA Revenue Collection Agent's handgun at the Chinatown station as she and her partner were collecting money from the ticket machines.

The partner intervened and stopped Otuechere. The first agent pushed her panic button and called for back-up. Otuechere was arrested outside the station on Washington Street.

He is charged with attempted robbery.
