A woman is accused of driving drunk through a parking lot in Nashua and slamming into two pedestrians, critically injuring one, police officials said.
Nashua police said 43-year-old Ivonne Hernandez drove her car though a Maynard & Lesieur parking lot and hit two people early Friday morning. One pedestrian, Matthew Beaudoin, is in critical condition at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass., while the other suffered minor injuries.
Friends of the victims told WBZ Hernandez ran the man and a woman over after the three engaged in an argument.
The crash happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday. Hernandez was arrested at the scene and has been charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and two counts of reckless conduct.
Friends said the victims had just left a nearby bar and were walking through the parking lot behind City Hall when they got into an argument with Hernandez while she was inside her car. It's unknown what sparked the hostile meeting that may have led to the crash, but the friends said the victims didn't know Hernandez.
She is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Nashua District Court.
