Gas crews were in Somerset over the weekend fixing a gas leak that happened near theĀ
deadly house explosion that killed a woman last month.
New England Gas crews responded to the area after receiving reports of a gas smell shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday. The smell was reported from a location near New York Avenue, where a gas explosion leveled a house and killed Rose Marie Rebello and her dog back in February.
Crews have already cleared the area.
Since the last month's explosion, New England Gas has been working to replace gas mains in front of Rebello's house and on other streets in town after neighbors expressed their concerns about continued leaks and a lingering smell of gas.
