4 Indicted In Revere Officer's Shooting Death

3 Teens Charged As Accessories To Murder

REVERE (WBZ) ―

Four people were indicted Thursday in the murder of a Revere police officer.

A fourth person has been added to the list of suspects in the September shooting death of Officer Daniel Talbot.

James Heang, 17, was indicted by the Suffolk County grand jury along with 17-year-olds Derek Lodie and Gia Nagy, and 20-year-old Robert Iacoviello. Heang is charged as an accessory to murder in addition to unlawfully carrying a firearm.

Nagy and Lodie are also charged as accessories in Talbot's murder.

Both have pleaded not guilty during their arraignments in Chelsea District Court.

Prosecutors say Nagy, of Revere, helped her boyfriend Robert Iacoviello Jr., break the gun used in Talbot's shooting death and hide it in a storm drain. Prosecutors also say Nagy helped fabricate an alibi for Iacoviello.

Iacoviello was arrested in November in connection with the case and has since pleaded not guilty to the murder. He is charged with first-degree murder, unlawfully carrying a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Prosecutors say Talbot and three other police officers were drinking beer and socializing in the bleachers at the Revere High School athletic field when Lodie exchanged angry words with the officers.

Lodie then allegedly called Iacoviello, who is accused of shooting Talbot in the head.

The Grand Jury investigation into the shooting is still at work. The District Attorney said by the time the investigation is over, there could be more arrests in the case.
