The winter weather and cold temperatures are being blamed for a string of accidents on Route 128 South in Weston Tuesday night.
Police had to close the highway down for a short time after as many as 20 cars skidded off the road because of the black ice.
A tractor trailer also jackknifed in the area because of the slippery conditions.
Luckily no one was hurt in the accidents.
Slippery conditions may have also played a part in a hit and run accident in Dorchester Tuesday night.
Witnesses say the driver of an SUV took off after hitting an ambulance.
An E.M.T. hurt her knee in the accident; the patient in the back of the ambulance was not hurt.
