Love Is Blind, But DNA Isn't
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Are you looking for love in the New Year?
A new on-line dating service hopes it can help, but this one is a little different than all the rest
.
Scientificmatch.com claims that it can use a D.N.A. sample from the inside of your cheek to create those matches made in heaven.
According to the website, when you first sign up, they'll send you a DNA collection kit; which includes some of sterilized, sealed cotton swabs.
With those swabs, you simply rub the insides of your cheeks, and using a pre-addressed, pre-stamped envelope mail the company those swabs, and presto!
The service is offered to people living in and around Boston, Providence, Rhode Island and Southern New Hampshire.
The company says physical chemistry is the key to better-matched couples, who have better sex lives and produce healthier children and more.
According to their web site w hen you share chemistry with another person you can expect at least six key benefits:
1. You love their natural body odor. They smell "sexier" than other people.
2. You have a more satisfying sex life.
3. If you're a woman, you have more orgasms.
4. There's significantly less cheating in your relationships than if your DNA isn't matched properly.
5. As a couple, you're more fertile.
6. Your children have a better chance of being healthy.
They also offer a " personal-values-analysis" in order to match chemically compatible people by their personalities and values in order to provide a "deep spiritual bond, to complete your path to truly amazing relationships."
Don't worry about getting matched with a convicted felon either, the company also provides background checks.
The service is offered for both heterosexual and homosexual couples.
Scientificmatch.com was founded by Eric Holze, a Northeastern University grad with a degree in of all things, mechanical engineering. He also has an MBA from Babson College.
Holze is quoted by the Boston Business Journal in a press release as saying that the theory behind his company is that nature wants babies bred by parents who have different immune systems. "Scientists speculate that, to encourage healthier babies, nature endows complimentary adults with strong chemical attraction to each other. ScientificMatch's DNA analysis examines there genes of the immune system to make its matches."
A one-year membership to Scientificmatch.com costs $1,995.95.
