Traffic was moving at a crawl along Route 128 in Newton as a fierce winter storm slammed New England.

Thursday's commute
home was an absolute disaster, and now, people are getting up early to dig their
cars out of plowed over parking spots and snowed in driveways.
Several side streets
in Brighton looked like a narrow tunnel Friday
morning. Plows overnight cleared off several roadways, ultimately pushing wet
and heavy snow from the street onto cars for drivers to shovel.
Several people got
up extra early to shovel out for the first time. "It's too early," said one
man, who claims he is already done with winter. "We didn't get any of this last
December. At least it waited 'til February. It's just too much this year. I got
to go to Florida...
It's where I should be."
Another part of this
snow nightmare is towing. Several cars where towed off the roads overnight. One
tow company said they were very busy last night, taking 50 cars off the snow
covered roadways.
Drivers are also
being urged to watch out for walkers this morning. Several sidewalks are still
not plowed forcing many people to walk in the street.
