Voters in special elections on Tuesday tap two Democrats and one Republican for three vacant seats in the House of Representatives.
Republican Virginia Coppola won her late husband's seat in Foxborough, defeating Democrat Claire Naughton by just over 500 votes. Michael Coppola died of cancer last summer.
In Gardner, Democrat Robert Rice trounced Republican Jonathan Dennehy by a more than two-to-one margin. Rice will take the former seat of Brian Knuuttila, who resigned to become general counsel for the Worcester County Jail.
In Somerville, Democrat Denise Provost ran unopposed for the House seat that opened up when former Representative Patricia Jehlen was elected to the state Senate.
