Swan Boat Season In Full Swing Saturday

2006 Slideshow: Swan Boats Out Of Hibernation

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Boston Mayor Tom Menino and family kicked off the spring season on Saturday with the opening of the Swan Boats in the Public Garden.

This season marks the 131st season the boats have hit the water in Boston. Menino took his inaugural voyage at 11 a.m.

The swan boats are still run by the same family that started them in the late 1800s. The boats will remain in the water until September 16.
