Jury Convicts Gunman In 2006 Vermont Shootings

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) ― A jury says a man who killed two people and wounded two others in a 2006 shooting rampage is guilty.

Christopher Williams, 29, was convicted Thursday of two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of attempted second-degree murder in the Aug. 24, 2006 shootings, which began after he broke up with his girlfriend and was turned away from her house when he went to pick up his belongings.

Two of the victims were shot at a school where Williams went looking for his girlfriend.

Jurors rejected his insanity claim, returning the verdicts after 4 1/2 hours of deliberations.
Williams could get life in prison. No sentencing date was set.
