There is new official information for those of you looking for the latest on Tom Brady and Bridget Moynahan's newborn son. The baby does not carry the Patriots QB's last name, but does have his first name incorporated into his rather lengthy nomenclature.
A spokesperson for Moynahan released this statement Tuesday afternoon:
"Actress Bridget Moynahan gave birth to John Edward Thomas Moynahan on Wednesday, August 22nd. She is thankful for a healthy baby and is excited about being a mother. Moynahan was very pleased that the father, Tom Brady, was able to be there for the birth and spend a few days with their new child."
The statement ended days of speculation about the boy's name and whether Brady was there when he was delivered at a Los Angeles hospital.
The statement, however, raised new questions like - will the baby be nicknamed "Jet" - one of Daddy's key rivals? The information released also did not go into detail about baby John's size, or Mommy Bridget's labor.
Brady flew from California to Carolina last Friday in time to start the Patriots exhibition game. He left immediately afterwards and did not speak to reporters.
Moynahan, 36, who is originally from Longmeadow, Massachusetts, announced in February that she was pregnant with her first child. The announcement came only a few months after she and Brady ended their three year relationship.
Brady is now dating model Gisele Bundchen.
Moynahan is a former model who has starred in such films as "Coyote Ugly," "I, Robot" and "The Sum of All Fears." Her television credits include "Sex and the City" and the ABC series "Six Degrees."
Brady has led the Patriots to three NFL titles and is a two-time Super Bowl MVP.
