Report: Miami Cops Want DNA From Bulger's Brothers

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Police in Miami are investigating whether James "Whitey" Bulger was behind the grisly murders of a young woman and her boyfriend in 1980.

The Boston Herald reports detectives may seek a court order to extract DNA from one of Bulger's five siblings, including former UMass president William Bulger, in an attempt to link the fugitive mob boss to the crime scene.

Police do not have access to any of Whitey Bulger's DNA. He's been on the run since 1995.

The murders of Peggy Sue Westcoat and Gerry Subby may be linked to another Bulger hit, the 1981 killing of World Jai-Alai owner Roger Wheeler.

According to the Herald, police suspect Bulger and Stephen Flemmi were trying to find out from Westcoat, a 23-year-old Jai-Alai clerk, what Wheeler may have known about their skimming profits from World Jai-Alai in Connecticut.
