State Has $10,000 Check Waiting For Manny
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Manny Ramirez is one of the highest paid players in baseball. Now he has a check for $10,000 waiting for him from the state's abandoned property division.
Back in February,
his name showed up on an updated list of 40,000 new names of people, businesses and charities that can claim abandoned property from Massachusetts.
A spokeswoman from the Treasurer's Office told WBZ Tuesday the Treasurer's office reached out to Ramirez's agent about the property, which is from Reebok.
A check has been cut and is ready for Ramirez to pick up or have sent to him.
The entire list has $1.5 billion worth of unclaimed property.
It includes 17 accounts over $100,000 and 32 accounts between $50,000 and $100,000.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice also appeared on the list in February.
