"I didn't know what was happening...he pushed my helmet off, the next thing I knew I was covered in blood," said Abington High School football player Dan Curtin.
The home video is somewhat upsetting. It shows Abington playing Arlington Catholic on September 19 and Curtin being knocked down by an opposing lineman.
But then the Arlington player rips Curtin's helmet off, and head butts him, leaving Curtin's face with two gashes, and covered in blood. "I couldn't believe it," said Dan's mother Paula Curtin. "Now he's going to have a scar on his forehead, probably for life."
Interestingly, the player from Arlington Catholic who did the head-butt, was one of the team captains, and a member of the National Honor Society -- a perfect role model, until that moment.
"He had an impeccable record here at Arlington Catholic, but that doesn't negate the impact of what he did," said Principal Stephan Biagioni.
The Arlington police will not press charges against the student, but have turned the matter over to a Clerk Magistrate for review, which could lead to charges against the 17-year-old.
