Search On For Loose Alligator In Framingham
FRAMINGHAM (WBZ) ―
A search is on in Framingham where an alligator may be on the loose.
Teenager James Maloney was in his 12-foot boat Friday when he says he saw a 4-foot-long gator in Lake Washakum on Friday. Another sighting was reported two days ago.
"It had spikes on its back," Maloney said. "It was too big to be a snapping turtle. They don't get to be four or five feet long."
As a precaution, the city closed the beach to swimmers.
Animal control officers were out on the water Friday night looking for it.
The sighting isn't too unusual. An alligator was found in a Brockton lake two years ago and another was found in Auburn last year.
