Red Cross Of Mass. Heads South For T.S. Gustav
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
The American Red Cross of Massachusetts is heading south to help areas that may be affected by Tropical Storm Gustav.
Although it is still unclear how much damage, if any at all, the storm will create, the local Red Cross chapter is sending three emergency vehicles to Alabama, which will act as a staging area for the storm.
"When we get a request to respond to a disaster scene, whether it be in eastern Massachusetts, nationally or internationally, the American Red Cross of Massachusetts Bay stands ready to respond," said Patrick Baldwin, spokesperson for the Red Cross.
Some of the volunteers heading south were also there to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
