In the wake of the House's rejection of the
bailout plan, Americans are getting more nervous about the state of the economy. More than half are now worried their bank will fail.
That's according to new research from
SurveyUSA, which polled 1,200 people across the country after the House vote Monday.
Only 15-percent say they support the rescue plan, while 38-percent are against it. But, 46-percent say they don't know enough about it to have an opinion on it.
6-in-10 people have no confidence in the government's ability to fix the economy.
57-percent said they're concerned that the bank where they keep their money now will fail. That's up from 51-percent five days ago.
7-in-10 of those surveyed said they wished they had saved more to ride out the crisis.
75-percent said they've cut their spending in the last three months.
