Boston College Student Hit By Green Line Trolley
CHESTNUT HILL (WBZ) ―
A 21-year-old Boston College student wearing earphones failed to hear warnings from an oncoming Green Line trolley and was struck while he walked on the tracks Monday morning.
It happened at 9:20 a.m. on the inbound tracks near
Boston College Station.
Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority spokesman Joe Pesaturo said the trolley operator tried to get the man's attention, but he failed to hear the trolley's horn.
The driver could not stop the trolley in time.
The unidentified student was conscious and talking after the accident. He was taken to Brigham and Women's Hospital, where he's being treated for head and leg injuries.
The track was closed and Green Line riders were bused between Boston College Station and Washington Street.
