A fire at a high-rise office building in downtown Boston has sent two workers to the hospital, including one with severe burns.
Boston Fire Department spokesman Steve MacDonald says the fire was reported about noon Wednesday at One Beacon Street, a 37-story building on Beacon Hill. The fire apparently started in an electrical transformer room on the 12th floor.
One man walked out the building with help from firefighters, with one of his pant legs and part of his shirt burned off. He got into an ambulance.
Hundreds of people filled nearby streets and sidewalks, but there was no smoke visible.
The building holds about 1,500 employees. All employees were allowed to return to work a couple hours later.
Repairs were being made Wednesday night and the building was expected to open at noon on Thursday.
