The Navy's aerial demonstration team has the green light from the Federal Aviation Administration for a photo shoot over downtown Boston Wednesday.
FAA spokesman Jim Peters said the seven F-18 fighters and a transport plane will leave North Kingstown, R.I., and possibly photograph the Naval War College in Newport.
The planes are expected in Boston between 1:30 and 2 p.m. and will fly above 1,000 feet.
The flight could be canceled if weather or other conditions aren't favorable.
Federal authorities were criticized in April when there was no public announcement before a
New York City flight to update official photos of Air Force One and its fighter escort.
Some panicked viewers were reminded of the 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in Manhattan.
What do you think of the Boston flyover? Is it worth it?
