Water Main Break Shuts Down Blue Line

BOSTON (WBZ) ―

Click to enlarge 1 of 1: A water main break on State Street shut down Blue Line service Wednesday night. Buses were used between Government Center and East Boston.

MBTA service between Government Center and Airport Stations is being diverted to bus service due to a water main break on State Street.

The buses are temporarily replacing Blue Line service. The trains running between Government Center and East Boston have been stopped.

The cause of the water main break is not known.
