Boston police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a home near Oak Square in Brighton Tuesday.
Police officials say a 56-year-old woman was found stabbed to death in an apartment at 73 Nonantum Street. The victim's name has not been released.
The suspect, Louis Marquez, 26, of Brighton, was still at the scene when police arrived. He has been booked and charged with murder. He will be arraigned in Brighton District Court on Wednesday.
Deputy Superintendent Thomas Lee couldn't elaborate on the nature of the relationship between the suspect and the woman, but he did say it did not appear to be a random act.
Neighbors on the quiet Brighton street gathered around the area and said they were shocked to learn a woman had been killed in the home.
