Celtics Lose James Posey To Hornets

BOSTON (WBZ) ― James Posey has agreed to a four-year deal with the New Orleans Hornets, the Boston Celtics confirmed Wednesday.

The free agent agreed to the four-year, $25 million deal on Wednesday, ESPN.com reported.

Boston was reluctant to sign Posey to more than a two- or three-year deal because of future luxury tax concerns, ESPN reported.

Posey was a key player this year in leading the Celtics to win their first championship since 1986.

Posey also won a championship with the Miami Heat prior to joining the Celtics.
