Boston City Hall

Boston City Hall is the recipient of a dubious honor: the world's ugliest building.
The 'dis-honor' awarded by an online vote on VirtualTourist.com, likely comes as little surprise to locals. The building has long been criticized as the city's worst eyesore.
Mayor Tom Menino has been one of City Hall's most vocal critics. He wants to sell it and put up a new City Hall along the waterfront.
Ironically Boston City Hall is also considered an architectural treasure by some, representative of the, well, ugly architecture of the 1960s.
The magazine Architecture Boston devoted an
entire issue to Boston City Hall last October.
For the record, the other ugly buildings on the list:
2. Montparnasse Tower; Paris, France
3. LuckyShoe Monument; Tuuri, Finland
4. Metropolitan Cathedral; Liverpool, England
5. Port Authority Bus Terminal; New York City, New York
6. Torres de Colon; Madrid, Spain
7. Liechtenstein Museum of Fine Arts; Vaduz, Liechtenstein
8. Scottish Parliament Building; Edinburgh, Scotland
9. Birmingham Central Library; Birmingham, England
10. Peter the Great Statue; Moscow, Russia
