Vandals Slash Boston Herald Conveyor Belts
BOSTON (WBZ) ―
Boston police and security officials at the Boston Herald are on the lookout for vandals who slashed 15 conveyor belts and tampered with about six sorting and counting machines and the newspaper production building.
Boston police officials said the vandalism happened sometime Tuesday night. Security did a walk through in the area where the vandalism occurred around 7 p.m. but noticed nothing unusual. However, when a manager arrived around 8:30 p.m., he noticed the damage, police said.
Work crews scrambled to fix problems caused by the vandalism.
Security officials said there were cameras in the area, though it's unclear if the vandalism was caught on tape.
