Frozen Loaf Of Bread Shatters Man's Windshield

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Students living in dorms at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston are being eyed as the possible culprits responsible for a dangerous stunt that left a driver's windshield smashed in.

Bryan Szela was driving down Huntington Avenue in Boston around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when an object fell on his car, smashing his windshield.

"I heard a loud bang, and I looked over and saw a large object had crashed into my windshield," Szela said.

The object was a frozen loaf of bread.

Szela said the bread was thrown from the Wentworth Institute of Technology's Baker Hall.

His shattered windshield has since been repaired, but a mess of bread was smeared on his windshield wipers.

Boston police say this isn't the first time objects have landed on cars passing by Baker Hall.

School officials confirmed this was the second incident in the last two weeks.

"It could really kill somebody," Szela said.

Wentworth school officials said they have put flyers in all the residence halls asking for information

"I think they should put screens on the windows to prevent it," one student said.

Szela said he thinks it's a student's reality show-driven prank, and he hopes it never happens again.

"I don't want somebody to get injured," he said. "I felt like I was lucky, but the next person won't be."

School officials said police are investigating. The school released a statement Wednesday, saying, "Inappropriate and unlawful behaviors will not be tolerated and students found responsible for these actions will face appropriate consequences."
