Several people standing under a tree at Franklin Park were injured when lightning struck.

A lightning strike injured 10 people seeking shelter from heavy rain under a tree in Dorchester Sunday afternoon, Boston police said.
The massive strike hit the tree before hitting some of the people underneath it. Multiple emergency crews had to respond to help the victims. Four victims were listed in critical condition Sunday night.
Police said 10 people total, all of them male, were injured by the strike, seven to eight of which were knocked unconscious. All victims were transported to area hospitals. Some of the victims suffered burns while others have cardio conditions from the strike.
Boston EMS and nearby witnesses worked to revive those who were knocked unconscious. When some of them awoke they were crying and asking questions.
Police officials were unclear exactly how many people were struck by lightning. They said some victims were injured by fallen branches.
Police said the people were playing soccer at Franklin Field in the area of 70 Talbot Avenue around 3:30 p.m. when a severe thunderstorm moved into the area. The group huddled under one of the few trees as rain poured down.
The victims range in age from 13 to 41.
