A young Quincy man who disappeared after a Bruins game last week was found dead early Wednesday morning.
24-year-old William Hurley was found in the water behind the Nashua Street jail by Boston police on routine patrol around 3 a.m.
Suffolk District Attorney spokesman Jake Wark said the body had been in the water a couple of days. He said an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Hurley had been missing since Thursday, October 8.
He vanished without a trace on Nashua St., after leaving a Bruins game at the Garden.
Hurley had called his girlfriend Claire Mahoney asking for a ride after leaving the game, saying he was tired. They were talking on their cell phones just minutes before she arrived to pick him up.
Hurley was a Navy veteran from North Carolina. He lived in the Boston area for the past eight months.
His mother, Lynn Martin, arrived from North Carolina on Monday to wait for her word on her son.
