Robert Finnerty, 26, allegedly hit a man, who has not been identified, at the intersection of Soldier's Field Road and Everett Street shortly after 3 a.m.

Editor's update 11/4/09: On October 28, 2009 Rob Finnerty pled guilty to OUI and was sentenced to three years probation and lost his driver's license for three years. Charges of Motor Vehicle Homicide were dismissed.
A Charlestown man who is accused of driving under the influence allegedly hit and killed a man crossing Soldier's Field Road in Brighton early Sunday morning.
Robert Finnerty, 26, allegedly hit a man, who has not been identified, at the intersection of Soldier's Field Road and Everett Street shortly after 3 a.m.
Finnerty and his passenger, Alex Saunders, 25, of East Falmouth, were not injured in the crash.
The man who was hit suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is still under investigation. Soldier's Field Road was closed for several hours after the accident.
