Man Arrested In Brutal Beating Death In Norwood

Kevin Scholtz Arrested In 39-Year-Old Man's Beating Death

NORWOOD (WBZ) ― Police have arrested a suspect who they say brutally beat a man to death overnight in Norwood, the Norfolk District Attorney's Office said.

Police say 39-year-old Scott Haynes was beaten to death after a confrontation broke out at at the suspect's mother's home on Nahatan Street sometime Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday.

Haynes was rushed to Brigham and Women's Hospital with severe head injures and died Saturday.

Police arrested 26-year-old Kevin Scholtz just before 7 p.m. Sunday at his mother's house. "This is a story of violence. Sadly, one that is much too common – spilling over from an early-morning house party at 122 Winslow Ave. in the town of Norwood," said Norfolk District Attorney William Keating.

Scholtz will be arragined on murder charges on Monday.
