Did Lowell Principal Try To Hush Missing Money?
LOWELL (WBZ) ―
Did the principal of a Lowell middle school try to keep a story away from the media? That's what one parent is charging. When a PTO mother was accused of stealing money, the principal of the
Butler School allegedly told parents to keep quiet about it.
The
Lowell Sun is reporting that nearly $8,000 is missing from the Butler School's PTO bank account.
The parent who acts as treasurer, Ann Pellegrino is under investigation by Lowell police.
When Principal Eilish Connaughton found out, she allegedly told parents in several meetings to keep quiet about the alleged theft. One parent told the Sun the principal said, "We have to think of the children" and she didn't want the media "sniffing around".
