It wasn't wizardry that led to the disappearance of iPods, laptops and other electronics from cars parked at the Cape Cod Mall just old-fashioned thievery.
Barnstable police say two teenagers were arrested early Wednesday morning after allegedly stealing about $5,000 worth of electronic equipment from cars parked outside the mall's movie theater as people watched "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince."
Sgt. Sean Sweeney tells the Cape Cod Times a man waiting outside the theater for his daughter noticed two suspects checking car doors.
Officers arrested 18-year-old Michael Gardner of Eastham and a 15-year-old boy from Brewster after finding the electronics on their persons and in backpacks hidden in the bushes. The iPods and laptops were returned to the owners.
