"I was scared...I saw the gun, and I just fell down."
Those are the words of a store clerk in Carver, after being robbed at gunpoint Saturday evening. And the security camera video backs up his description.
At 8:10 p.m., at the Quickeez market on Route 58, a man in a black, wearing hooded sweatshirt walks up to the counter, and pulls a gun on the clerk, who stumbles backward, then falls to the ground.
The video shows the frightened clerk getting to his feet, and opening the cash register -- handing all the money to the man in the black sweatshirt. "He was wearing a mask, and had the hood pulled up. I couldn't tell what he looked like," said the clerk.
This is the third robbery of a convenience store in Carver in the past week. Police in Kingston, Middleboro, and Plymouth also report robberies under similar circumstances. "That's right, we're comparing notes," said Plymouth Police Chief Mike Botieri.
One suspect is described as a slender white male, the other a light-skinned black man. Police believe the two may know each other and that the robberies may be the result of drug dependency. "Carver has a drug problem, just like any other town or city. And we have to examine that in connection with these robberies", said Carver Police Chief Arthur Parker.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Carver Police Department at 508-866-2000.
