Mass. Attorney General's Office/WBZ
Boston Police are asking for the public's help to track down a man they call "an impact player" in the city's crime scene. They say Christian Miranda, 39, of Roxbury, is a major cocaine distributor who has been on the run since Monday night. Police warn he is armed and dangerous.
Working on a tip, cops responded to a drug deal in process Monday night. They arrested two men, recovered two guns and 100 grams of cocaine worth about $15,000. Miranda, however, got away.
Later that night, police tracked Miranda to Dorchester where they found him in the passenger seat of a vehicle. A chase ensued, and eventually Miranda jumped from the car and ran. The driver allegedly tried to run down an officer who was chasing Miranda. That driver was arrested.
This is not Miranda's first serious brush with the law. He was found not guilty of
first-degree murder in North Carolina this past May.
The Attorney General's office says Miranda has family connections in the Rocky Mount area of North Carolina and possibly in Rhode Island and Connecticut.
He is described as a light-skinned black male, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a stocky build. His weight is estimated at 215 pounds.
Anyone with information on Miranda's whereabouts can call Boston Police's anonymous tip line at 1-800-494-TIPS or the Massachusetts State Police at 508-820-2121.
