Danvers Man Arrested For 'Garbage Rage'
DANVERS (WBZ) ―
There's an alleged case of rubbish rage in Danvers.
Police told
the Salem News a man tried to run down his garbage men because they refused to take some of his trash.
41-year-old Kujtim Sheraj is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct and threatening to commit a crime.
The garbage men were picking up the trash at Sheraj's home Tuesday morning, but didn't empty one of the barrels because it was overweight.
That didn't sit well with Sheraj, who allegedly told one of the workers "if he didn't take the trash, he would kill him."
The workers say he continued to scream at them, so they left to resume their route.
Sheraj jumped in his minivan and, police say, he tried to run down the garbage men.
The truck driver called police, who arrested Sheraj.
New trash regulations went into effect in Danvers July 1 to increase recycling in town.
