Police: Teen Kidnapped, Sexually Assaulted On Cape

DENNIS (WBZ) ― Police on the Cape are looking for a man who kidnapped a 15-year-old girl from her bedroom in the middle of the night and sexually assaulted her.

Dennis police say the masked man snuck into the home off Route 6A through an unlocked door just after midnight on May 11. He made his way up to the second floor, where the teen was sleeping in her bedroom. "She was awoken when the suspect placed a hand over her mouth," said Dennis Police Captain William Monahan. "The suspect told the victim he was armed with a knife."

The girl told police the man forced her from bed and brought her down the street where she was attacked

Authorities say the victim was able to talk the man into letting her go. According to police, she told the suspect her mom would notice she was gone and would call police.

The attacker is described as a white man, between 5 feet 6 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build. He's said to be in his late 20s or 30s and unshaven. He was wearing a dark colored fleece jacket, light colored pants and a dark colored mask at the time of the attack.

Four other people were home at the time of the alleged incident, including the girl's parents.

Investigators say some medication was also stolen from an unlocked car parked in the driveway.

Police are urging residents to keep their doors locked to prevent an incident like this from happening again.

Dennis police say they have had break-ins in the area where the assault happened – some of them happened where the homeowners were inside. But they say none of those incidents were as violent as this attack.

Anyone with information is asked to call Dennis Police at 774-352-1433 or 774-352-1500.
