Gov. Deval Patrick goes on a local talk radio station once a month in something they like to call a "fireside chat."
It's the same station,
WTKK, that suspended host Jay Severin for offensive remarks about Mexicans, referring to them as "leeches and primitives."
Those remarks angered the governor and he ripped the station on the air Thursday for keeping Severin.
"I found Jay Severin's comments on the air about Mexicans hateful and hurtful, really just way over the line," Patrick said.
"I was just as disappointed frankly that the station chose to let him resume broadcasting this week. It made me, uh, you know, I like you guys, but it made me embarrassed to be associated with the station."
Gov. Patrick does a monthly radio show on WTKK with two other hosts.
If he's so embarrassed, why didn't the governor take it to the next step and refuse to be on the station any more?
What do you think?
