People Found Living In Abandoned Foreclosed Home
DORCHESTER (WBZ) ―
An abandoned foreclosed home in Dorchester was condemned after it was learned people were illegally living in the trash-covered home.
The home is at 22 Westville St. A neighborhood group alerted police about the people living in the house, and police then called inspectional services.
According to officials, there was illegal activity going on inside the home, but they would not say what kind of activities.
After an inspection, the home was deemed unfit and condemned. Officials also say there were children living inside the abandoned house.
Inspectional services said the bank that foreclosed on the home, Saxon Mortgage Services Inc. -- based in Ft. Worth Texas -- failed to keep tabs on it. The bank faces a $1,000 fine.
Crews spent the afternoon boarding up the home's windows to prevent anyone else from getting inside.
