A 38-year-old man was shot and killed in Dorchester Wednesday afternoon.

Boston police said the shooting happened at 68 Bowdoin Avenue just after 4:30 p.m. The man had been shot several times and he was rushed to Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
