Colrain Man Accused Of Stashing Pot In Dryer

BOSTON (WBZ) ― A 52-year-old Colrain man is accused of stashing 13 pounds of bagged marijuana and cash inside a clothes dryer.

State police found the drugs and cash while serving a search warrant at the man's home on Greenfield Road Thursday afternoon.

In addition to the bagged marijuana, police also found 200 growing marijuana plants and $8,500 cash. Some of the stocks of the plants were 4 ½ feet tall, police said. They also confiscated other drug paraphernalia throughout the house.

Police arrested Bobby Kay, who is accused of using two addresses on Greenfield Road to grow and distribute marijuana.

Marijuana was also found inside a kitchen cabinet and in a gym locker. Police say cash had been stashed inside the dryer and a vacuum cleaner.

Kay is charged with possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute and cultivating a narcotic. He is being held on $100,000 cash bail.
