13-Year-Old Charged With Drunk Driving

BOSTON (WBZ) ― A 13-year-old boy has been charged with stealing a car and driving drunk in Dorchester early Tuesday morning.

According to State Police, the unidentified teen from Quincy was driving a Ford 500 with no lights on just after 1 a.m. when he refused to pull over for a trooper.

After a short pursuit, police say the teen crashed into a street light near Neponset Circle and tried to run off.

He was arrested and taken to Caritas Carney Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries to his face.

He pleaded not guilty in Dorchester District Court to charges of operating under the influence, operating a motor vehicle to endanger, leaving the scene of an accident causing property damage, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, receiving a stolen motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, and resisting arrest.

Bail was set at $20,000.

Investigators say the boy stole the car from a parking lot in Charlestown.
