E. Coli Forces Boil-Water Order For Dudley
PEMBROKE (WBZ) ―
There are now four Massachusetts towns that have boil-water orders in effect because of E. coli contamination in the public water supply.
In addition to Pembroke, where advisories have been in place for a week, the town of Dudley has also implemented an order. Earlier this week, residents in Fire District 2, which covers South Hadley and parts of Granby, were advised to boil tap water.
The town of Dudley discovered E. coli in the water supply and issued an advisory on Thursday. City authorities say they believe that E. coli got into one of the pipes, but they don't know how long the boil-water order will be in effect.
