Driver Killed In Truck Collision On Route 106
EASTON (WBZ) ―
A young driver was killed after she allegedly ran a stop sign and slammed into a tractor-trailer in Easton early Thursday morning.
Police say 22-year-old Nicole St. John of North Easton was driving on Prospect Street just before 1:30 a.m. and drove through a stop sign at Route 106.
Her Honda Civic crashed underneath the trailer unit of a Stop and Shop truck.
St. John died at the scene.
Her two passengers were hurt.
21-year-old Kevin Cotter of North Easton was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital on a med flight helicopter. His injuries are not life-threatening.
22-year-old Michael Tierney of Whitman was taken to Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center with minor injuries.
The truck driver, 52-year-old Brian Augustine of New Bedford, was not hurt.
Easton police officer Anthony DiCarlo was treated for cuts to his face while trying to help the victims, according to Dep. Chief Allen Krajcik.
