Kennedy Back Home After Suffering 'Minor Seizure'

BOSTON (WBZ) ― Sen. Ted Kennedy is back at his Hyannisport home only hours after suffering what his office said was a "minor seizure."

Barnstable police Sgt. Ben Baxter told the Associated Press that police received a 911 call from Kennedy's home around 5:10 p.m. Friday evening. Police said the senator was alert and responsive.

Kennedy was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was treated. "Doctors believe the incident was triggered by a change in medication," Kennedy's office said in a statement.

The senator was spotted returning home shortly before 8 p.m. Kennedy staffers said he was looking forward to watching the debate between John McCain and Barack Obama.

Kennedy, 76, had a seizure in May and underwent surgery in June for a malignant brain tumor. After his surgery, Kennedy underwent six weeks of chemotherapy.

Since his treatment, Kennedy has been working from home, but he has made a few public appearances, including his dramatic speech at last month's Democratic National Convention.
