19-Year-Old Mother Killed
DORCHESTER (WBZ) ―
Boston police are looking for two suspects in the shooting death of a 19-year-old mother in Dorchester over the weekend.
Alexandra Gomes, the mother of a 15-month-old girl, was killed and her younger sister was wounded outside a home on Elder Street early Sunday morning.
The two women were among five people shot around 2:30 a.m.
Gomes was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center. Her 18-year-old sister was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg.
Three other people, ages 20, 23 and 30, were also shot. They were all treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Officers had been to the same address less than two hours before.
"All I can say is Boston police responded to 6 Elder St. for a party," said Superintendent Bruce Halloway. "Not sure if it was related to the incident."
Mayor Tom Menino said the incident does not appear to be gang related, but the victim and the suspects are believed to be familiar to police.
