A woman seriously hurt in a crash involving two elderly drivers in Woburn has died.
Police say 83-year-old Joseph Casey hit a car driven by 78-year-old Claire Regan at Russell Street and Old Cambridge Road Tuesday afternoon
Casey's wife, 84-year-old Katherine Casey of Malden, was a passenger in his car. She was critically injured in the crash.
She died Wednesday at the Lahey Clinic.
A short time later, the Registry of Motor Vehicles revoked Joseph Casey's driver's license.
He was treated for minor injuries at Lahey Tuesday and released.
Regan is in fair condition at Massachusetts General Hospital.
No charges have been filed at this point in the investigation.
Authorities say Casey's license was revoked once before in 2004 as an 'immediate threat' for medical issues. It was reinstated a few months later.
Since then, he had two more accidents where he was found to be at least partially at fault.
