Lawyers for Neil Entwistle, the British man accused of killing his wife and infant daughter in their Hopkinton home, asked a judge to dismiss the charges or change the location of his trial scheduled to begin on Monday.
The judge denied those requests during a hearing at Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn.
According to Entwistle's attorney, Stephanie Page, her client cannot get a fair trial in Middlesex County because of the international media coverage his case attracted.
The defense also was denied their request to exclude from the trial evidence prosecutors gathered against Entwistle since his February 2006 arrest.
Entwistle is accused of killing his 27-year-old wife, Rachel, and their 9-month-old daughter, Lillian Rose, in January 2006.
Entwistle denies killing his family. He claims he came home from running errands to find them dead.
