The jury in the trial of a British man accused of killing his wife and daughter never heard about the extent of the man's financial problems.
Neil Entwistle argued with his wife over money and gambled online, according to court documents. Prosecutors were allowed to present some evidence of Entwistle's money struggles, but did not tell the jury he gambled online in the weeks leading up to the killings in January 2006.
They also did not say his 9-month-old daughter received state-subsidized health care.
Prosecutors say Entwistle was deeply in debt and dissatisfied with his sex life when he shot to death his wife and daughter.
Entwistle claims his wife killed the baby, then committed suicide.
Jurors deliberated for a second day Wednesday.
