SHIRLEY (WBZ) ― Evidence released after the sentencing of Neil Entwistle offers a new glimpse into his frame of mind after the murders, and before his arrest. Among the papers confiscated upon his arrest were writings of his love for his wife, and notes that indicate he considered trying to sell his story.

Entwistle was sentenced Thursday to two consecutive life terms in prison, without the possibility of parole for the murders of his wife, Rachel, and 9-month-old daughter Lillian. His lawyers have vowed to file an appeal.

Evidence from the case was then laid out for the media to see. Among the belongings he carried in a backpack at the time of his arrest was a sheet of paper on which he wrote in detail about his love for Rachel, and the trust in their relationship.

"Rachel only knew how to care for others. Selfless to the end.

As a husband I could never dream for more. She was my soul mate and my very best friend.

The love we shared knew no bounds, a love that brought on both comfort and excitement.

We would model our love on four roses, red for passion, yellow for fidelity and white for pure love. The combination of these roses is the orange and that is what we are to each other.

We believed that true love was not about gazing deeply into each others eyes, but staring out together in the same direction, the desire to reach those common goals being the strength that would drive us forward.

We never did anything alone, and we had no secrets. Trust is essential in keeping a relationship strong…

Rachel was very passionate about everything she did and cared deeply for the welfare of everyone she knew. Whenever she had arguments she would spend hours wondering what she did wrong and how she was going to make it right.

She had a natural gift for being able to read people and it was impossible to fool her. If she spent any time with you it is because she knew what a good person you were and that you are someone she wanted to share her time with.

Everyone who has been in her company will have been touched by her kindness, her love and her energy. And that is what I hope people will remember most."

Also in the backpack were scrawled notes on a pad of lined paper, apparently written by Entwistle with the thought of trying to sell his story.

"Good afternoon, my name is ______
I am a close friend and confidant of Neil Entwistle. I am approaching you because I feel that Neil [illegible] frame of mind to tell his side of the story.

What is of interest to us is what price you would be willing to pay for exclusive rights to the full story? There is no loyalty to any particular paper because all have printed slanderous comments, so we are leaning it goes to the highest bidder. "

Entwistle will begin serving his sentence at the Souza-Baranowski maximum security prison in Shirley. He will remain in the maximum security prison system for a minimum of two years, at which point he will be evaluated for the potential of moving to lower security.
