Police Release Sketch Of Esplanade Attacker

BOSTON (WBZ) ― State Police have released a sketch of the man wanted for attacking a woman on the Esplanade last weekend.

The victim told investigators she was walking near Beacon and Hereford Streets around 4 a.m. Sunday when a man abducted her at knifepoint and forced her to walk to the Esplanade where he sexually assaulted her.

Police say he also stole her cell phone, camera and cash before walking her back to the area where they met. The man ran off from there.

He's described as black, 28-32 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 220 pounds, and muscular with a shaved head.

He was wearing a sleeveless T-shirt and dark colored jeans.

Police increased patrols on the Esplanade earlier this summer after a woman was sexually assaulted while jogging there late at night on June 16. There have been no arrests in that case.

There's no word if the two attacks are related.

Anyone with information on these cases is urged to call the State Police at 617.727.6780.
